It is closely engaged in research and innovation at the international level and is in charge of several certification processes. The ECCP is particularly active in the following areas:
Internet of Things
The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is researching and developing new certification models for the Internet of Things.
ICT certification
The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is supporting certification of information and communication technologies, encompassing products, services and information management systems. It is also directly supporting certification and labelling services such as the IPv6 Ready Logo program.
Privacy and Personal Data protection
The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is on the front line of certification addressing privacy and personal data protection norms and regulations. It manages the EuroPrivacy certification scheme that ecompasses both the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Act on Data Protection.
Certification and labelling processes
The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is researching and developing innovative certification schemes combining ISO models and standards with emerging technologies and testing tools.
